Built on 30 years of doing it the right way.
A local, family-run exterior remodeler where you work directly with the owners — not a sales department. Honest work, fair pricing, and craftsmanship we’re proud to put our name on.
A company built on a simple idea
Owner Tim Desper is a lifelong Chesterfield County native who spent more than 30 years in construction — including leadership roles managing installations for a national brand. He saw how big companies make homeowners feel like a number, and started Commonwealth Construction & Remodeling to do the opposite.
Today we serve homeowners across Richmond, Chesterfield, and Henrico — from windows and doors to roofing, siding, decks, and more. The promise hasn’t changed since day one: you work with the owners, and we stand behind every project.
"To make exterior remodeling simple, honest, and stress-free for Virginia homeowners — delivering quality work that earns their trust for the long haul."

Treat people well
We respect your home, show up when we say, and stand behind our work.
Local and personal
We're your neighbors, not a national chain. Every job is a relationship.
Integrity
A faith-based company built on integrity, reliability, and doing right by people.
The Team
Tim Desper
A lifelong Chesterfield native with 30 years in the trade — from the family business at 13 to leading installation divisions. Tim runs Commonwealth with honesty, attention to detail, and a handshake that means something.
Samantha Desper
Samantha keeps every project on track behind the scenes. She brings a career in finance and banking to Commonwealth, handling the books, scheduling, and paperwork so every job runs smoothly and every invoice is clear. She’s also Tim’s wife, which makes Commonwealth a true family business.
Our Master Installers
Experienced crew leaders bringing years of hands-on skill to every job.
We hire only industry veterans that must meet all of our quality standards to uphold the level of excellence that our customers have come to expect from working with us.
A Family Team, On and Off the Job
Tim and Samantha aren’t just business partners. They’re husband and wife, and proud parents of an amazing grown son and two beautiful daughters, one of whom has Down syndrome.
Raising their family has taught them patience, flexibility, and the value of people who show up when they say they will. Those same values guide every project at Commonwealth: we treat your home the way we’d want our own family’s home treated, keep you in the loop from start to finish, and give you honest answers about what your home really needs.
When you work with us, you’re not hiring a faceless company. You’re working with a local family that’s proud to serve our neighbors across Richmond, Chesterfield, and Henrico.
